Cancellation within 48hrs incurs first-day fees for all booked techs; cancellation within 24hrs incurs full booking payment. I will not contact BTN technicians directly outside this platform for 2 years from last assignment. I understand that a designated steward is required on all BTN jobs — working steward for crews of 10 or fewer, non-working steward for crews of 11 or more.

Terms & Conditions
Billing: All projects subject to an additional 5% admin fee for crew bookings. All positions and rates listed are subject to adjustment with advance notice and client approval. Half-Day: 5 hour minimum (0–5 hours). Full-Day: 10 hour minimum (0–10 hours); OT (1.5x) after 10 hours; DT (2x) after 12 hours.
Payment Terms: NET 14 days from invoice submission date. Card Fee: 4% for credit card transactions. Wire Fee: $20 Domestic Incoming Wire. Deposit: 60% required for new clients (50% for Preferred Vendors). Late Fee: 2% of total invoice per 24-hour block past NET 14.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellation with less than 48 hours notice — Operator/Engineer fee: half-day rate for entire run. Hands/GAV fee: half-day rate of all cancelled shifts.
Contractors: The Client agrees not to contact or solicit services from BTN contractors with the intention of hiring them directly. BTN contractors may only work directly for a BTN client after two years have elapsed since their last BTN assignment.
Preferred Vendor: Clients who sign BTN as their preferred vendor receive a reduced deposit rate of 50% and priority crew scheduling.

BTN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR & PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS AGREEMENT

SECTION A — INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR STATUS
1. I am an independent contractor, not an employee of Boston Tech Net A/V Solutions (BTN).
2. I am responsible for my own federal, state, and local taxes including self-employment taxes.
3. BTN will issue a Form 1099-NEC for payments of $600 or more in a calendar year.
4. I am not entitled to employee benefits including health insurance, workers compensation, unemployment insurance, or paid time off.
5. I will maintain my own tools, equipment, and professional certifications as required.
6. BTN reserves the right to terminate this agreement at any time without notice or penalty.

SECTION B — DRESS CODE (MANDATORY — NON-NEGOTIABLE)
All BTN technicians must arrive to every job in the following attire. No exceptions.

Plain black button-up shirt OR plain black polo / collared shirt — no logos, graphics, or patterns
Black pants — clean, professional fit
Black footwear — closed-toe, clean

No hats of any kind on shift
No durags on shift
❌ No athletic wear, hoodies, or casual streetwear
❌ No excessive jewelry that may interfere with work

DRESS CODE VIOLATION POLICY: Any technician found in violation of the dress code upon arrival may be sent home without pay at BTN admin's discretion. The client booking will not be affected — BTN will source a replacement. The violation will be logged in your profile.

SECTION C — CONDUCT & SUBSTANCE POLICY
BTN technicians represent the company in front of clients at all times. The following are grounds for immediate removal from a job site and potential permanent removal from the BTN roster:

Arriving to a job smelling of marijuana, alcohol, or any substance that may alter your ability to perform — this is a client-facing professional environment. Non-negotiable regardless of legal status in your state.
Arriving under the influence of any substance — including but not limited to marijuana, alcohol, prescription medication taken outside prescribed use, or any other drug that impairs judgment, reaction time, coordination, or professional conduct.
❌ Unprofessional conduct toward clients, venue staff, or fellow technicians
❌ Use of personal devices during show-critical moments without authorization

Removal for conduct violations is without pay for the day.
A second conduct violation results in permanent removal from the BTN roster.

SECTION D — RECOMMENDED PERSONAL GEAR
While not mandatory, BTN strongly recommends every technician carry the following on every call:

🔧 Crescent wrench (adjustable) — for hardware, rigging, and general setup
🛠️ Multi-tool (Leatherman or equivalent) — pliers, blade, screwdrivers
🧤 Grip safety gloves — for load-in, load-out, rigging, and cable pulling

Technicians who consistently arrive prepared with personal tools demonstrate the professionalism BTN clients expect and will be prioritized on future bookings.

SECTION E — ATTENDANCE & RELIABILITY
6. I agree to the 3-strike policy: Three documented no-call/no-shows result in permanent removal from the BTN roster with no recourse.
7. I will notify BTN admin as early as possible if I cannot make a confirmed booking. A no-call/no-show is the most serious violation in this business.

SECTION F — NON-SOLICITATION
8. I agree not to solicit or accept direct employment from BTN clients for 2 years from my last BTN assignment. Violation subjects me to the buy-out clause in any active BTN contract and potential legal action.
I understand and agree to the dress code policy — plain black attire, no hats or durags on shift. Violations may result in removal without pay.
I understand and agree to the conduct and substance policy — arriving under the influence of or smelling of marijuana, alcohol, or any substance that may alter my ability to perform is grounds for immediate removal without pay.
I understand I am an independent contractor responsible for my own taxes, and I agree to the 3-strike attendance policy and non-solicitation clause.
